The Persian edition of the memoirs of Fereydoun Zandfard Memoirs has gone through two editions and at least three printings. Zandfard is unique in that he was one of the few, if not the only, high-ranked Iranian diplomat who worked both in the Imperial and Islamic foreign ministries of Iran. His memoirs display both his meticulous mastery of foreign policy and his love of country. He was a diplomat at the Iranian mission to the United Nations. The trust in his abilities was so high that was made ambassador to the important neighboring states of Kuwait, Pakistan, and Iraq. When Iran and the United Kingdom were in conflict about the future of the British protectorate of Bahrain, Zandfard was instrumental in helping both countries reach an agreement. Former foreign minister, Ardeshir Zahedi has written a foreword to this translation.
